Today, I decided its time to give my thick long hair a good trim. Looking at myself in the mirror yesterday I swear I could see Janis Joplin (Bless her soul I do love her voice) singing next to me and we looked like twins with our thick one length hair. I couldn’t even style my hair at all. Finally I stirred up my guts and went to my 2nd least favorite people – THE HAIRSTYLIST. I get nervous when I sit there and having to watch them with scrutiny as they cut my hair. I had to explain and point out how important it is that they cut my curly fussy hair very very well. Luckily the stylist understood me and I think he was the same guy who gave me that awesome Penelope Cruz cut 2 years ago.  He did what I instructed – maintain the length but trim it with layers. Result – Lighter hair and I can see my face ;-)

However I do not like it when they suggest to go for REBONDING! The moment he saw my hair he asked if Im interested to do that process of killing my curls and make it straight. I told him a number of times I dont like rebonding and I love my curls the way it is as it gives me choices of hair styles anytime. Straight hair for me makes me look stern and harsh and flat whereas my curls I can style it wavy or as it is and I look fine with it. Why is it that they always suggest us curly haired people to straighten our locks eh? Do our medusa locks look very threatening to their shears? :-P Nevertheless I hold no grudges to him as he was just being a hairstylist but just when I found him again I was told that its his last month working there AND the saloon is closing down too ..

:-( Just when I found a hair saloon I’m finally content with, I end up having to find another one that can do a good job in understanding my fussy misbehaving but lovable locks!!!

HELP!!

Im such a slacker — I know (u_u)

Im such a terrible blogger I know so I apologise. Right now I feel so tired I could do with a major physical overhaul of ME!

Its been such a busy week for me and Ive never felt this busy in my whole entire life. I remember when I first left home and moved out of the country to join my husband (then boyfriend) I have never felt so excited with the personal space I was getting in a new environment. He kept telling me to go out and make new friends whereas for me I was sort of stubborn and couldnt be arsed in making any thinking I’ll get by as I already have my own set of closest friends back at home so why bother making a new network here, right?

WRONG!!! Eventually I got bored of going out on my own and missing out on some ladies get together. This year Ive made new friends well I have known one of them for almost 2 years now but I feel that, since she is now pregnant and no longer working, I got to know her quite well now. The other two I only got to know them this year but for some reason (call me a nuthead) I felt theres a connection amongst us as we can talk things on random mode all 4 of us without going blank if you know what I mean. As an appreciation and in the spirit of Christmas I decided to give them some gifts as my way of saying thank you. Call me a bit of sentimental one but its very touching to know that one of them actually toast a drink for me for introducing her to the other rest.

SO LADIES, A TOAST TO OUR FRIENDSHIP AND AN EVERLASTING ONE TOO!!

Yep this year I noticed thats what Ive been doing extending the bridge of friendship near or far and its amazing!!  So I am thankful for that.

And now Ive got my own free time but still got TONS to do but I’ll get to do my blog reading again from time to time. I miss my reading my blogs :)

Having my younger sister in town with her boyfriend was sort of taxing too. Dont get me wrong I love my younger sister a whole lot but man! just the idea of going out does sap away my energy and bless her for understanding her elder sister’s efforts of meeting up. Her boyfriend is an absolute teddybear and I’m glad I got to know him and meeting him for the first time. At least all my doubts about the fella are all gone now and I can lift this over protective barrier I put on my sister and cast it away for good. Im surprise to know they’ve got plans to get married next year which I think is TOO FAST considering its only less than a year they’ve gone out as a couple but have known each other for a year now. I think its wise to really get to know each other properly first but I shant say a word. They’re both grown ups and Im not going to be a nagging duck at my sister.

Right my husband is playing Christmas songs right now which is very un-grinchly of him :-D maybe its the Christmas tree and the gifts underneath the tree has finally made him in the mood? :-P

Toodles all, Have a great weekend !!

Not chat up material

I love going to bookstores and when I do I can be stuck in there for hours HOWEVER I do not appreciate it when my moment of pleasure is disturbed.I always think of boostores as a place of solitary browsing and not socialising … anyone wish to disagree with me?

Parties, Bars, Clubs = Social haven

Bookstores = Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeading pleasure PEOPLE!

I was thrilled to finally go to one of my favorite bookstores after so long not visiting it and I know they have an awesome section of manga. In my head I was looking for a certain title Ive been meaning to buy and start collecting UNTIL lo & behold …a guy approached me. Look dont think Im such a bookworm ok because Im not. I can be friendly but seriously folks not in a bookstore .. I knew from the moment I approached the store he was eyeing on me, its so frickin obvious but I just shrug it off.

He is not a bad looking man, well dressed and polite but I can sense a chat up within seconds. All I needed was some peace and quiet so THIS I surely do not need. I completely lost my mood to browse in the store already. The conversation obviously was lame and eventually to get him out of his own misery and my own hair I told him that I was with my husband (when he asked me if I was alone.) That was enough.

HONESTLY I’ve been over this chat up game a long time ago. Flattery wont bring him anywhere with me thats for sure. Beautiful name for a beautiful woman?! Please ..that line reeks of false flattery, too sickeningly sweet for me to swallow ..try harder pal with some other woman …..

So how has your weekend summed up?

Tandoori Chicken with Briyani Rice, Spinach in Sour Cream and Mint sauce

Its been awhile since I posted any photos of food that I successfully cooked and I tried to post them before but with no success. Seems like WP is being ok with me tonight and I thought I’d finally upload and download these food pics as Im in no mood of blogging anything right now … not in a very good temperament at the moment but no worries I’ll be alright tomorrow ..so I’d rather post these instead of ranting and raving like a frickin lunatic.

The above photo is my successful Indian dinner. The Mint sauce was made from the scratch and it was perfect in terms of flavour. Normally with tandoori chicken I would make the ingredients from the scratch but I took the lazy cook’s method by using the pre-packed powder ..same goes for the briyani. Spinach was from the scratch.

Fish & Chips

This is a permanent meal in my husband’s menu. Every Tuesday its Fish and Chips for him :-D Its not take away fish and chips from the chippy shop or those packed frozen ones. Its fresh fish with fresh batter.

Nasi Lemak

I LOVE NASI LEMAK ..this is a staple meal in every Asian household. I had this nasi lemak at a restaurant ..Im quite fussy with my nasi lemak since Im so spoiled by mom’s very own nasi lemak …but this one is quite good except for the peanuts ..Im not a big fan of peanuts when eating rice. This is quite popular for breakfast. You have a choice of chicken rendang or fried chicken or beef rendang as a side dish.

Dry Curry Mee

This is called Dry Curry Mee. I dont know why its called Dry considering its got gravy inside however I am not complaining as its very delicious, thick to the broth with a hint of spice and the chicken was delicious!

A cuppa tea with a cake

I love having this once in awhile just as a treat. If you’re wondering what in the world is this green looking mould ..its actually green tea steam cake ..its very delicious, not too sweet.

A cuppa coffee and a piece of cake ...

Another favorite of mine, Steamed cake coffee flavour with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. DELICIOUS!!!!

Both cakes are from Sunmoulin bakery.

If this doesn’t make you hungry? I dont know what will because I know I am!!

Ciao! Im off to scavenge my fridge for some snacks.

Im having mixed emotions but relieved

Being away from my family and from home only means that I will miss out on ALOT of events and today’s one of them.

TODAY 23rd November 2009, my youngest sister gave birth to her second child. A healthy 3kg baby boy. I am so happy for her and so relieved that she had a safe delivery although the doctor had to break her water for what reason I dont know unless some experienced mothers explain to me why or gynaecologist give me the A-Z of pregnancy and delivery. In the end she had to have Caesarean but nevertheless she is fine, I’m now waiting in anticipation to see the latest photo of the new addition in my family this cute bundle of joy whom I heard has chubby rosy cheeks.

As much as I want to be there I can only celebrate the joy all the way over here.

Hope your day started out great and it continues throughout the week !!

Man! It absolutely sucks big time when Im without my computer. If Im away on my travels I wouldn’t mind at all but being at home without access to the internet I get anxiously finger tapping, know what I mean. BUT all is good now my baby boy blue is back and in healthy condition. A friend of ours helped to reformat my Dell in top form with a spanking new Operating System Windows 7 Ultimate, so I guess 2 weeks being ‘hospitalised’ was well worth it. Diagnosis – When the Dell was bought the salesman had installed Windows XP that conflicted with Dell’s new system.

Seems like Christmas has finally arrived over here and its sales, sales, sales and more sales now which only means major squeezing & dodging of shoppers :-D Ahhhh festive shopping ..dont you just L O V E it! As for me apart from bargain shopping I truly love looking at the festive decos that the major malls would start putting up ..

So are you all set for Christmas shopping and all ?

Recently I received something really yummy in the post ..

I love dark bitter chocolates, Thank you so much Ai !!

Ive only opened these so far, I like to savour them as much as possible so I have 2 pieces a day so I can enjoy them :-D

These babies are so delicious with a hint of sweetness but you can still taste its bitter strength, perfect to have with a cup of freshly brewed coffee (sugarless)

Its a Monday so I hope everyone’s week starts off well and the day is great with good weather.

Till next time ..

Its common sense to ask first!

Dont you just HATE it when someone you know gives out your number without asking you first. The person who calls you up happen to be someone you dont think you would like to meet and wish he / she would stop calling and get the hint when you never make an effort to call up nor meet up.  I absolutely hate the idea of knowing that my number is being given out like raffle tickets and im not even told about it.  There is a thing called invasion of privacy here!

Me ABSOLUTELY no LIKEY!

Grr….

Sorry for the lack of blog here but for some reason WordPress is still not being cooperative with me uploading photos! I dont know why….im quite tempted to terminate this blog and try elsewhere but then again Word Press is the only blog site I know that has category function that I like ..so far …..

I love it when Im in the mood to cook especially when it turned out good! Last night was one of those good cooking moods. Normally I prepare my dishes with the ingredients from the scratch but I did the lazy cook method of using pre-packed ingredients ^_^ so what was I in the mood for yesterday?

Chicken Tandoori

Using the pre-packed ingredients all I did was add in the yoghurt to set it and marinate them. Even the briyani rice I used the pre-packed paste ..all I did was add in the peas. The only thing I’d take credit is my mint sauce and my stir friend spinach.

Yep I was in the mood for some Indian food. Today ..whats on my menu ? Im still thinking …a bit of a lazy mood today since its the weekend. Maybe I’ll get some onigiri instead at the supermarket for my dinner IF I can get my butt off the sofa and go to Isetan to buy them. We shall see! Anyway thought I share my culinary success photo of Chicken Tandoori, Briyani Rice, Mint sauce and Stir Fried Spinach. To finish off a superb dinner I made a pot of freshly brewed coffee courtesy from Miss Ai !! PERFECTO!

Grrr, am I the only having problems uploading photos today or what! Its effing annoying!! I was going to post a photo of what I cooked even …

Anyway I managed to get my butt off this afternoon to Isetan as I was in the mood for some onigiri and other sushi however WordPress is in a bitchy mood for uploading photos I cant post it here today ..ah well. All the food (Onigiri, Inari Sushi, Takoyaki and Miso Soup) are all happily settled in my contented tummy and next would be a nice sweet raisin cake I got from the supermarket top with a cup of nice hot coffee! Im off to prepare those so I can have them while watching my English Premier League, my team Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspurs, its a London derby so GO GUNNERS!!

:: EDIT ::

Weird I can upload these two Halloween images but I cant upload my foodie photos, whats with that ?!

:: END OF EDIT ::

To all celebrating this ghoulish day
